We are making some very interesting discoveries in science class. The last two weeks we have been learning about the 3 states of matter of solids, liquids, and gasses. We even went to the science lab to experiment with water learning how it can be each of the three states of matter. The following are pictures from our discoveries in the science lab:

We  have been practicing our addition skills with single, double, and triple digit addition. The students must remember to carry the 1 in larger addition problems just like the picture below:

We have been learning about sequence of events. Ask your student about sequencing and they should be able to tell you about sequence words such as:

First

Next

After

Then

Last/Finally

We have been writing some great sequences of our daily activities such as our mornings as well as what we do when we go home. The students are doing such a great job using sequencing to write their sentences as well as their paragraphs.

We even read the book located above called the Popcorn Book by Tommie de Paola. This is a great book that not only tells about the history of popcorn, but show different steps of making popcorn. When we use steps, its just like using our sequence words. We use First, Next, After, Then, and Last to do a retell of the story's events.
